Strengthening Connections

Connecting Aboriginal Learners and Post-Secondary education.

The Strengthening Connections Program

Strengthening Connections is committed to enhancing the awareness of educational opportunities for Aboriginal learners while empowering them to pursue a post-secondary education. Strengthening Connections seeks to highlight the diverse post-secondary opportunities available to Aboriginal learners, thus enabling Strengthening Connections team members to assist Aboriginal learners in achieving their educational and employment goals.

Strengthening Connections will work to develop meaningful relationships with urban and rural Aboriginal communities with the goal of developing informational programs in the areas of admission requirements, application processes, student financial literacy, student services, and student life.  All are designed to increase the numbers of Aboriginal learners making successful transitions to post-secondary in British Columbia.

Strengthening Connections will also act as an advisory and advocacy group to the Ministry of Advanced Education to enhance successful transitions of Aboriginal learners to public post-secondary institutions in British Columbia.
